Follow below listed steps –

1) Copy folder vision from – integration/whmcs/modules/support/ to WHMCS installation — /modules/support/

2) Copy config.php file from vision installation to /module/support/vision/ directory of WHMCS Installation.

example : If you have installed Vision at yourdomain.com/support/ then you should find config.php under “support” folder

3) Edit above mentioned config.php file in whmcsinstallation/module/support/vision/

Locate line — $this->database = “”;

Below this line add one more line –

$this->domain = “yourdomain.com”;

Where yourdomain.com == your Vision License Domain.

4) Copy the vision directory from integration/whmcs/templates/ to templates directory of WHMCS Installation.

5) In WHMCS admin, navigate to General Configuration >> Support and choose Vision in the Support Module drop down.

That’s it. You are done

How to Upgrade to V2.7.4?

Auto Update

Vision Helpdesk offers Auto upgrades from Admin Panel Click on >> Software Information >> Available Updates will shows updates available for upgrade.

Note : While upgrading it will ask you ftp path –by default it takes complete path to your manage folder which needs to be changed to — ftp path.

Example : A client having path — /home/username/public_html/support/manage/

This path should be changed to — /public_html/support/manage/

(In above example we assume ftp access is given from public_html folder and its sub folders.)

Manual Upgrade :

Step1) Login to http://secure.thevisionworld.com

Step 2) From Product and Services >> View Details >> Download zip – Update from 2.7.2 to 2.7.4

Step 3) Unzip above file and upload it to your installation — that is overwrite files on your installation —make sure if you ftp files then it should be in binary format.

Step 4) Run http://yourdomain.com/support/manage/upgrade.php in browser that will update to V2.7.4

Also iNET Interactive announced today the location and date for the seventh annual HostingCon,  i.e,  HostingCon 2011 will be held in San Diego, California, from August 8-10 at the San Diego Convention Center situated beautifully on the glistening San Diego Bay.

HostingCon Registration – Badge Pickup and Printing

You can pick up your badge/have your badge printed at the registration desk in the Austin Convention Center during the following hours:

• Sunday, July 18: 12:00pm – 5:00pm
• Monday, July 19: 8:00am – 5:00pm
• Tuesday, July 20: 7:30am – 6:00pm
• Wednesday, July 21: 8:00am – 4:00pm

The registration desk is located in the 4th Level Foyer of the Austin Convention Center, just outside the keynote and luncheon rooms. You will see signs directing you to the registration desk at multiple points throughout the Austin Convention Center.

If you want to upgrade your registration you can do so at the registration desk. The registration desk will be staffed during the hours listed above.

Getting Around the Conference

I was wondering, how a company could ever think of raising price for just adding few features?  Not at all a good business practice.  The article also mentions that Zendesk later realized their mistake and they decided to run the same pricing for existing customers where as new customers will be still paying higher cost.

Vision Helpdesk could never think of raising price for adding features – Just like we have released Vision Helpdesk Mobile Edition and thats completely FREE!!

The article has also raised questions about the SaaS methods and What SaaS should practically be doing is reducing overall helpdesk management cost ? Isn’t it?  With Zendesk becoming overpricy  that doesn’t seem so
